Happy Birthday Ranbir Kapoor: Katrina Kaif has a surprise

Despite a list of hits and critical acclaims like Barfi, Rockstar and Wake Up Sid to his name, Ranbir Kapoor is at present facing a lean patch and, as a result, his fair share of brickbats. As much in news for his work as for his off-screen pairings with present girlfriend Katrina Kaif and ex-turned-friend Deepika Padukone, this Kapoor scion was spotted in London with Kat over the weekend.
Ranbir turns 33 on Monday and had a quite, working birthday planned for himself. He had even told media during Tamasha trailer launch last week that he would be working on his special day.

However, Katrina appeared to have surprised her beau and the couple was spotted in London together on Monday, where Ranbir is shooting for his next.
Earlier, at the Tamasha trailer launch, the actor -- who turns 33 on Monday -- had said he preferred working birthdays. “I don’t believe in birthdays. It makes me feel sad. I know most people feel special on this day. But I am happy when I am working. It’s great to do work,” Ranbir had said.
When his Tamsha co-star Deepika was asked what she would gift him, she said, “He has everything... lots of good wishes, love and happiness to him.”

Tamsha’s director Imtiaz suggested that Deepika should give Ranbir a cheque. To which Ranbir jokingly said, “I would prefer cash.” On being asked if he would have a dinner with his family and rumoured girlfriend Katrina Kaif, he had said, “We have had lots of nice family dinners. My parents (Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh) are in India they have come back from London.”

Priyanka Chopra was sceptical to sign 'Quantico'

American TV series “Quantico” is a big break for Priyanka Chopra in an international scene but the actress had second thoughts about signing the show as she felt it would require a long commitment.

The 33-year-old actress, who bagged the show during the shooting of “Gunday”, had her kitty full with back-to-back releases like “Mary Kom”, “Dil Dhadakne Do” and two upcoming projects “Bajirao Mastani” and “Jai Gangaajal”.

“I was a little sceptical initially because it’s a long commitment. I had to balance television and Hindi films. The script was incredible and I just couldn’t say no to it,” Priyanka told PTI in an exclusive interview over phone.

“I was shooting ‘Gunday’ when Kelly Lee, who is into casting, came to meet me. Then I had to go to LA and read the 25 pilots that they had picked for me and tell them the ones I liked. I am happy that I got my first pick, which was ‘Quantico’,” the actress said.

The show revolves around a group of young Federal Bureau of Investigation recruits, who are training at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Priyanka plays the lead character of Alex Parrish, who becomes the FBI’s prime suspect.

The former Miss World feels the viewers will like the mystery aspect of the series. “The audience would discover with me the various twists and turns,” she said.

Priyanka said her team and the people in the US have been warm to her.

“They are all amazing people. I am having a great time shooting for the show. They are treating me well,” she said.

The “Fashion” star cannot wait the audience to watch “Quantico”, which goes on air today in the US.

It will premiere in India on October 3 on Star World and Star World Premiere HD.

“I am excited as well as nervous. I am waiting to see the reaction of people. I am hoping people will like it. I have worked hard for this show. I just hope the audience loves it as much as I do,” Priyanka said.

The actress credits Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan for paving way for other Indian actors to get work in Hollywood.

“It is a great shift for Indian actors today. Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan have paved the way for us to be there by doing amazing work. I am happy we are getting the opportunity to show our talent to the world,” she said.

The National award-winning actress feels happy to have come a long way in her career.

“The world has become this big global family… The horizons are expanding. For me, a girl, who comes from (a small town like) Bareli, I see it as an incredible time for me after reaching here. I feel if I can do it, why can’t others,” Priyanka said.

Often Indian actors are not recognised for the cameos they do in Hollywood films or international TV shows but the actress is not bothered about this and prefers quality over quantity.

“I have learnt this from Amitabh Bachchan that the length of the role shouldn’t matter, the quality should. One should impress people with their presence. I feel all kind of work should be respected. I feel fortunate to have got this opportunity,” Priyanka said.

Kerala Government Website Hacked, Server Safe

The official website of the State government was hacked and defaced by unidentified hackers early morning on Sunday. Visitors to the website www.kerala.gov.in were greeted by the image of a burning national flag and slogans “hacked by Faisal 1337”, “Pakistan Zindabad” and “We are team Pak Cyber attacker” and “security is just an illusion”.

Officials of the Centre for Development of Imaging Technology (C-DIT), the government agency that maintains the website, said the hackers could not access the server and the website would be restored soon.

The hacker adopted the SQL injection technique to subvert the homepage of the site around 1 a.m. The cyber cell of the state police have initiated a probe into the incident. Assistant Commissioner of the Cell Vinayakumaran Nair said they have asked for the log details from the state IT Mission.

The officials said the identity of the hacker could only be ascertained after a detailed probe and the “pro-Pakistan” slogans could be an attempt to mislead. In similar incidents in the past, the officials said, the hackers had operated from the country itself.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters that the government views the incident seriously.

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, in his Facebook post, said a security audit of all government websiteswould be conducted by the Cyberdome of the state police, which would start functioning soon. The Minister added that hacking occurs “worldwide”. Five months ago, about 30 websites of the state government agencies were hacked. The government has asked the State IT Mission to put in place necessary security arrangements to prevent such incidents in the future.

Kerala State IT Mission director Mohammed Safarulla said the hacking of website would not affect government’s e-services as the portal contained only general information. He said the website would be restored on Sunday night.

The government website is hosted at the State Data Centre-I. The data centre hosts crucial e-governance applications of the state and the hacker’s access to the official website has raised serious security questions.

India’s all-time highest grossing film Baahubali

I recently sat down with the technical gurus behind India’s all-time highest grossing film Baahubali to ask one simple question: “How did you pull it off?”
If you’ve seen the film you know it’s a visual feast that infuses virtually every scene–whether romantic, intimately dramatic, or heart-poundingly violent–with breathtaking CG images. As the former COO of a major Hollywood visual effects company I know how difficult it is to pull off this sort of magical spectacle with a $150 million production budget, let alone the relatively miniscule $30 million budget the Baahubali team had at their disposal.
Meeting with me to explain their techniques and strategies were Pete Draper, the Co-Founder and Division Head at Makuta Visual Effects, the VFX house that oversaw the majority of Baahubali’s 2,500 effects shots; Raja Koduri, head of the Radeon Technologies Group at Sunnyvale, California-based AMD, which provided key technologies and hardware to the film; Roy Taylor, AMD’s Corporate Vice President for Alliances;  and also the film’s director, S.S. Rajamouli, and its producer, Shobu Yarlagadda. We convened at the Raleigh Studios Cafe in Hollywood prior to their AMD-sponsored screening of the international cut of Baahubali: The Beginning in Raleigh’s Charlie Chaplin theater.
When I put my question to Mr. Rajamouli, he replied that on a project of Baahubali’s scale, it was very important that he have the right technicians. In addition to having a superb multi-talented visual effects supervisor/artist/vfx producer in Srinivas Mohan and great concept artists at Makuta, he explained that the individuals assembled before me were no ordinary group of graphics technicians. Koduri, who happens to be Rajamouli’s cousin, is an engineering wizard who played an instrumental role in bringing the Retina Display to market during a prior stint at Apple, and who has also been a pioneer in the field of graphics processor units (GPUs), the specialized electronic circuits designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of video images. Draper, a transplanted Brit, founded his Hyderabad India-based studio 7 years ago with a major contribution from Rajamouli, and was a close technical collaborator with the director on his previous films Yamadonga, Magadheera, and Eega.
Rajamouli explained that the results his technical team delivered “seemed like a magic trick to me. The budget was very low, but the audience doesn’t care, the film still had to look great. I can’t run a subtitle on the screen with a disclaimer saying ‘We didn’t have enough money to do this right.’ We had to get great results. Our motto was ‘Achieve 90% of the quality of a Hollywood film for 20%

Calendar Girls review !!!

There’s a scene in Nisha Pahuja’s documentary The World Before Her when a Miss India contestant whimpers that she doesn’t want whatever Dr Jamuna Pai wants to inject into the young girl’s face. It’s going to make her lips plumper, Pai promises. “Please let me do it,” says Pai in a voice that’s so polite and so uncompromising that it will give you chills. For those who have seen The World Before Her, Madhur Bhandarkar’s new film Calendar Girls packs a punch with its very first shot. There on screen, with her upper lip plumped to artificial perfection, is Ruhi Singh from The World Before Her. She’s playing a young model from Rohtak who's been selected for a much-publicised modeling event. The similarities between Singh’s real life and the role she has in Calendar Girls are unmistakable.  The parallels are a reminder that Bhandarkar may be lamentable director and a terrible actor, but the reason he can’t be dismissed is his ability to spot interesting stories in real life. He’s shown this skill ever since Chandni Bar and it’s why actors like Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have worked with him. It's also the reason Bhandarkar has so many National Awards to his name.Unfortunately, Bhandarkar’s nose for stories isn’t matched either by his writing or directorial talent. It doesn’t help that he chooses to collaborate with people like his writing partner on Calendar Girls, Rohit Banawlikar. There are a lot of people who work hard to make Calendar Girls worse than it could have been, like the sound department that not only layers the film with a terrible background score, but also makes it painfully obvious that the dialogues were dubbed. However, few can match Banawlikar’s contribution toCalendar Girls’ downfall. His dialogues are so awkward and stilted that you will feel physical pain while listening to the actors struggle with their lines. This is particularly disappointing because – brace yourselves – a lot of the conversations in Calendar Girls pass the Bechdel Test. Much like in real life, the women chatter a lot about work. They're ambitious, hardworking, and a credible mix of good and bad qualities. They're all friends who accept each other's quirks with an eye roll and a grin. Barring their terrible make-up and wardrobe, these women are all surprisingly normal, which is a huge improvement from the last time Bhandarkar wandered into the world of glamour, in the godawful Fashion.Mayuri from Rohtak, Paroma Ghosh from Kolkata, Sharon Pinto from Goa, Nandita from Hyderabad and Nazneen from Lahore-via-London are the calendar girls of the title. All of them come to Mumbai with dreams of success. None of them wants to return to the stifling worlds they've left behind. There’s one moment where someone asks Sharon (Kyra Dutt), “Isn’t the glamour world all about booze, drugs, sex and orgies?” Sharon drily replies, “I really hope so.”There are moments of insight that Bhandarkar sprinkles in Calendar Girls that will make you desperately wish this film had been attempted by a better director. For instance, Mayuri (Ruhi Singh) from small-town India is keenly aware of social media and adept at using it. She also gives us a hilarious description of a make-out session in a tabela. Nandita (Akanksha Puri) from Hyderabad giggles and confesses she’s ‘experimented’ with a girl. It’s poignant that Nandita is the first to rush into marriage. You can't help but remember how vehemently and unconvincingly she'd protested, "I'm straight" when she'd first mentioned her lesbian experience. It's almost as though she's being goaded into marriage by an anxiety that she may not be straight. At the same time, Calendar Girls gives us bowtie-wearing photographers named Timmy (one expects a Pomeranian, but sees Rohit Roy instead); a Bengali family (with ghastly non-Bengali accents) that could be out of a soap opera; and every cliché you can imagine. Suhel Seth does his best to be Vijay Mallya (La Martiniere Kolkata has given us such great, great men). Ashoke Pandit also has a cameo, as a hardworking CBI officer. A rich, aristocratic home has a replica of David's "Napoleon Crossing the Alps" and fake Greek columns are randomly scattered around the dining room.

Salman Khan excited about Sylvester Stallone''s new film

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star has earlier confessed that Stallone has always inspired him in his life.  Creed, a seventh film in the Rocky series, focuses on a man following in the footsteps of his late father, Apollo Creed and getting a mentor in the now-retired Rocky Balboa (played by Stallone).

The Hollywood star is also producing the film. It stars Michael B Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Tony Bellew besides Stallone.

Thousands watch Cockenzie Power Station chimney demolition today in East Lothian, Scotland.

Thousands of people gathered to watch the demolition, which happened at noon.
The 149m-tall chimney stacks had dominated the local skyline for the past 50 years.
The power station, which generated 150 terawatt hours of electricity every year at its peak, was decommissioned in March 2013.

Each of the chimney stacks had 150 holes drilled in it, which were then filled with explosives. The power station's turbine hall was also demolished, with the boiler house due to come down at a later date.
The "button press", which started the demolition of both chimneys, was carried out by East Lothian resident Donald McCulloch, who won a charity raffle.
An exclusion zone was in place from 09:00 to ensure that the demolition was carried out safely.
A flotilla of boats gathered in the Firth of Forth to watch the demolition, with many more people gathering at surrounding vantage points, including Portobello Beach.
The safety restrictions covered the Greenhills, sections of Edinburgh Road and the John Muir Way, as well as extending into the Firth of Forth.
There were also traffic restrictions around the power station from 07:00.

The twin chimney stacks were constructed in time for the coal station opening in 1967. The turbine hall structure is predominantly made of steel.

Thousands of sports fans have signed a petition asking ITV to stop playing Paloma Faith's Rugby World Cup song.

The 34-year-old singer's cover of World in Union has been criticised online, with people branding it "excruciating".
Jonathan Wilson, 24, from Worcester, started the petition a week ago on campaign website Change.org. Since then it has amassed nearly seven thousand signatures.
The IT worker told the Press Association: "The petition isn't taking issue with Paloma herself - in fact, I'd never even heard any of her music before last week.
"I don't like her rendition of World in Union, but she's interpreted the song in her own unique way and sung it in her style, and it would be wrong of her to have approached it in a different way.
"What we're petitioning against is ITV's decision to use the song in their coverage, and the regularity with which it is forced upon our gentle ears."
He said he would present ITV with the petition if it reached 10,000 signatures, adding that the TV channel was yet to contact him.
The singer and soon-to-be judge on The Voice told the BBC she was quite pleased with the song, and suggested that the track being played a lot might have been responsible for some fans' irritation.
On a Faceboo k group set up to provide updates about the petition, one user wrote: " I quite like Paloma Faith but her rendition of this song is excruciating and is not made any better by blasting out one line of the song at every commercial break."
Another added: "Thank you so much for starting this petition, her snippets are so offensive and painful. I normally like Paloma Faith as well but it's awful."
A spokesman for ITV told the BBC: "We are happy with Paloma's rendition."

Deepika Padukone has to says Rajinikanth film

The rumour mills are working overtime in the Tamil film industry about Superstar’s film with director Shankar. While it has been unofficially confirmed that he will be doing Endhiran2 next year with director Shankar, the big question is who will be the leading lady?
Currently, Deepika is busy with quite a few films lined up in Bollywood. She has Tamaashawith Ranbir Kapoor, Bajirao Mastani with Ranveer Singh, a Yash Raj film with Hrithik Roshan and a remake of The Fault in Our Stars with Varun Dhawan.
There was widespread speculation that Deepika Padukone had been approached for Endhiran2. The Bollywood actress has already done Kochadaiiyaan with the Superstar in the past.
When dna contacted Deepika to confirm whether she had signed the movie, her spokesperson stated, “Deepika has not been approached for a film with Rajinikanth.”

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is busy shooting for Pa Ranjith’s Kabali. Endhiran2 is likely to start shooting in January 2016. So we just have to wait and watch which actress will bag the lead role in the Shankar film!

kids' classic Danger Mouse: inside the remaking

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfiIlfwGy-8

Anyone aged between 30 and 50 can conceivably claim Danger Mouse as a vivid TV memory. It was on ITV through most of the 1980s and into the 90s, running for 161 episodes. A ramshackle cartoon about a mouse secret agent and his speccy hamster sidekick Penfold, its homespun anarchy made grown-ups feel like kids, and vice versa. It’s not just a great children’s programme but a hunk of fine British comedy, with David Jason and the late Terry Scott leading the original voice cast.

Armstrong is taking his role in the swish new CBBC version very seriously, or at least as seriously as one can when the director’s instructions include things like: “Should that sneeze be more… elephant-like?” He’s aware that any remake is met initially with arm-folding disdain by people who act as if it might somehow wipe away the old show. But he’s jubilant because he’s confident that Danger Mouse 2015 has nailed the tricky task of updating the form without losing the spirit. Did he study the David Jason original, or ignore it? “I had a memory of it, but I deliberately didn’t go back. I knew if I did, I’d end up copying him.”So what’s his Danger Mouse voice like? “There are two extremes. Sometimes he can be [whispers] a little bit Richard Briers. And SOMETIMES he can be a LITTLE bit John CLEESE. I have to keep him quite high in my register. [Co-producers] Fremantle are keen that he should be young-sounding. On the balls of his feet.”

“God, I’m excited. It comes out in September, right? Woo-hoo-hoo!” Alexander Armstrong is 45 years old, but has just emitted a genuine whoop of joy. The Guide is crashing the final day of voice recording for a show that, even in the wake of several high-profile reboots of beloved children’s classics, has a lot of people jumping up and down. Armstrong is your new Danger Mouse…  “I’ve never wanted a job as much as this. Plenty of parts you go up for and you don’t really mind, but not getting this would have devastated me.”

This year’s Danger Mouse is more explicitly a Bond spoof than the original, which drew just as much on 1950s adventure serials. As well as Stephen Fry as M-like boss Colonel K, Shauna Macdonald is prominent as Q-ish gadget queen Professor Professor Squawkencluck. (She’s a professor whose first name is Professor.)
A sign either of how impressive the new scripts are, or how high the budget is, or both, is the starry supporting cast. John Oliver plays a mad scientist, Armstrong’s Pointless mucker Richard Osman is a hyper-intelligent jellyfish brain in a tank, and Game Of Thrones’s Lena Headey is US agent Jeopardy Mouse. In the Christmas special, Brian Blessed is Santa, Richard Ayoade’s the Snowman, and Miranda Richardson is Queen Of Weevils.
One odd quirk of the make-do-and-mend original was that David Jason not only voiced the main character but provided narration, too. The remake can afford a separate narrator and casting was a no-brainer: it’s Come Dine With Me’s voiceover-gone-rogue Dave Lamb. “The Come Dine With Me voice has turned into a howling, camp lunatic,” Lamb explains. “For this I’ve reined it in. The director will say, ‘That was a bit Come Dine. Calm down.’”

The new Penfold, Kevin Eldon – splashing contentedly on to a sofa having just performed the catchphrase “Oh, crumbs!” in six impressively different ways, in case of editing emergencies – says his approach was different. “There won’t be a fag paper between Terry Scott’s Penfold and mine. I tried various voices but then I thought: ‘No, he had it.’ My daughter is three and she loves the originals. I said to her: ‘You know there’s going to be some new ones?’ She went: ‘Oooooh!’ I have done the voice at home, yes, but she thought it was just one of the many stupid voices I do.”No formal blessing was bestowed on Armstrong by David Jason, despite Jason happening to be working in the same Soho studio complex one day. “We did ask if he wanted to come in [to the DM studio],” Armstrong recalls, “and he very graciously said no. It must be a bit weird for him. It’s like if you’ve been Doctor Who or James Bond, going back to the set where there’s a different incarnation.”Fire up the 1980s Danger Mouse on Netflix and, despite its bottomless charm, the flaws are evident. Slow build-ups to creaky jokes are everywhere, and if money can be saved through repetition or making things stay still for a bit, that happens. Eldon: “Some of the pacing is, oh, yawn. They’ll run across the screen, then run back, and after 10 seconds you go, ‘Come on!’ But it’s 30 years ago, isn’t it? There’s room for zhuzhing it up. Ours is pretty damn pacy.”Indeed, the crucial opening episode (Armstrong: “I’m going to be… slightly braced”) is unapologetically chaotic. Within three minutes, Danger Mouse has been to outer space and back, destroyed half of London including Buckingham Palace and, consequently, been fired. “It’s a very American approach to scriptwriting,” Armstrong says. “Five laughs on each page.”The wonky look of the original was something else the new version couldn’t feasibly keep. Like the revivals of Clangers and Thunderbirds, this Danger Mouse doesn’t patronisingly simulate glue-and-string shakiness. It has clearly been made on big computers in 2015; it can do more, so it does. “Animation has really come on,” says Eldon, who points out that Danger Mouse’s app-enabled new “iPatch” is a logical development of the show’s penchant for gadgets. “This is better without losing anything. They used to use photo backdrops, which they’d draw over and cartoonify. We’ve kept that.” Photos or paintings are indeed often used, with 2D animation and a bit of 3D modelling on top. Eldon and co get through four episodes in London a day; each 11-minute story is then three weeks’ work for a team of 12 animators in Dublin. It’s telling that amid all the gloss, the characters look identical. Danger Mouse, Penfold and Blofeldian nemesis Baron Greenback (Ed Gaughan) are untouched. “They haven’t diverged much from the original set-up, which is that Penfold is a lovable coward who dotes on Danger Mouse,” Eldon explains. “He can’t believe his luck. He’s like a little brother. I’m loth to go into too deep a psychological profile, though, because he’s a cartoon mole. “Not hamster,” Eldon adds, incorrectly, in what’s probably a cheeky bid to prolong the is-Penfold-a-mole-or-a-hamster debate that’s raged since 1981.What this Danger Mouse really gets right, just as the first version did, is making everyone laugh together. Old DM fans can hope not just that they’ll enjoy the remake, but that it will tempt their kids away from The Next Step, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and YouTube videos of men with squeaky voices commentating as they play Minecraft. Eldon: “I wasn’t a kid when the original came out, but as a young adult you used to catch it and go: ‘That’s really good.’ There are smart gags in here that kids will have to think about, which is great. But at the same time there’s simple Looney Tunes slapstick: smacking into something and your face is a different shape.“If this had been some kind of abomination like Scrappy Doo, doing nasty stuff on the grave of the original, I couldn’t have been doing with it,” Eldon concludes. “But it’s been done with… a certain amount of integrity.” That last phrase comes out in a Stupid Voice, but he means every word.

🇰🇷🇰🇷

Man: God, can I ask You a question?

😝😳

God: Sure

😌

Man: Promise You won’t get mad …

😒

God: I promise

😌

Man: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?

😒

God: What do u mean?

😒

Man: Well, I woke up late

😳

God: Yes

😒

Man: My car took forever to start

😳

God: Okay

😒

Man: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait

😳

God: Huummm

😒

Man: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call

😁

God: All right

😒

Man: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn’t work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that?

😰

God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that

😊

Man (humbled): OH

😔

GOD: I didn’t let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.

😊

Man: (ashamed)

😒

God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn’t want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn’t afford to miss work.

😊

Man (embarrassed): Okay

😒

God: Your phone went dead bcuz the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn’t even let you talk to them so you would be covered.

😊

Man (softly): I see God

😒

God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn’t think you wanted to be in the dark.

😀

Man: I’m Sorry God

👏

God: Don’t be sorry, just learn to Trust Me…. in All things , the Good & the bad.

♨💥

Man: I will trust You.

👏

God: And don’t doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than your plan.

♨💥

Man: I won’t God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for Everything today.

♨💥

God: You’re welcome child. It was just another day being your God and I Love looking after My Children…

REPOST if you believe in GOD

♨💥

Why Do we feel sleepy in Prayer,

But stay awake through a 3 hour movie?

☀♨

Why are we so bored when we look at the HOLY BOOK,

But find it easy to read other books?

☀♨

Why is it so easy to ignore a msg about God,

Yet we forward the nasty ones?

Why are Prayers getting smaller,

But bars and clubs are expanding?

Why is it so easy to worship a celebrity,

☀♨

But very difficult to engage with God?

💥♨

Think about it, are you going to forward this?

♨💥

Are you going to ignore it, cause you think you will get laughed at?

☀💥

God  said:

If you deny me in front of your

friends, I will deny you on the day of judgment:

☀💥

When one door closes , God opens two : If God has opened  doors for you,
