The
next installment in the much-loved series will go on for a whopping 160
minutes - 2 hours and 40 minutes - breaking the previous record by 15 minutes.
Before SPECTRE, Daniel
Craig’s first outing as 007 in Casino Royale nine years ago had held the title,
running for 145 minutes. It narrowly beat the 1969 142 minute long movie On
Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
But UK cinemas have this week put down SPECTRE’s running time will be longer than that
- making it the longest James Bond film ever in the franchise.
Skyfall,
the 47-year-old actor’s last outing which made over a billion dollars at the
box office, lasted 143 minutes.
The
160 minutes for SPECTRE, Daniel Craig’s fourth outing as 007, is a guidance
figure for the cinema schedulers as they work out how many shows they air a
day.
Next
up BBFC censors will decide whether the new flick deserves a 12A rating.
