Alicia Vikander stuns in Tudor style embroidered gown at premiere of The Danish Girl in Venice

With her star on an epic trajectory, Alicia Vikander is already a regular at glitzy red carpet events.
And the 26-year-old actress made sure to wow at the 72nd Venice Film Festival on Saturday, donning an exquisite dress for the premiere of her new drama The Danish Girl.
The Swedish beauty glowed in the cream gown which featured intricate embroidery and flattering paneling.

Fitted around the waist and cinched in with a dainty belt, Alicia's dress hugged her hips before flaring with a little more volume as it fell to the ground.
For added feminine detail, the sleeves included frilly trims.
Alicia wore her brunette locks in a pretty up-do and wore very little make-up on her flawless olive complexion.

The Ex Machina star was joined by her Oscar-winning co-star Eddie Redmayne as well as castmates Amber Heard, Matthias Schoenaerts and director Tom Hooper.
The Danish Girl is a poignant biographical drama that tells the true story of Lili - born Einar Wegener - who became one of the first people to have gender reassignment surgery in the 1930s.
As the film trailer reveals, it underpins the beautiful love story between Einar and his wife Gerda, played by Alicia Vikander, who falls for the 'charming and mysterious' artist.

The film is hyped for big things at the Venice Film Festival, which is judged by three juries; The Venezia 72 Competition jury, Jury of the Orizzonti and Luigi De Laurentiis.
Alicia's performance is already receiving some excellent reviews, with Variety praising the actress's role.
'The surprise of The Danish Girl is that it’s as much Vikander’s showcase as it is Redmayne’s,' Guy Lodge wrote in his piece about the period flick.
'Toggling sensuality and sensitivity, with a latent streak of anger throughout, Vikander plays her half beautifully… it’s the stuff that best actress campaigns are built upon.'
